CONTACT comprises PC modules operating in an optimized, compact box that includes all necessary interfaces to receive messages from the telecoms provider, as well as uploads in all online formats (see factsheet). Voting protocols can also be processed.
SF 1 had requested a tool to handle inbound messaging for the new “Leben Live” show. tpc and its partner Werft22 had the solution. Sdreamland is the latest software development to identify all formats automatically, as well as video codec, clip size, etc.
The sdreamland-powered encoding process into MXF format is so fast that a large volume of content can be processed at the same time.
After content has been converted, it will be passed to the web browser-based management cockpit that operates on every PC or Mac connected to the CONTACT Lan. The tool’s interface has been designed along the same lines as MS Outlook, so it is easy for a team of researchers to operate for live TV shows (no technical background needed). The integrated video editing tool allows in and out points to be set. An editor with additional features is in preparation.

The published content will be visualized using an individually designed graphics package. Combined with a state-of-the-art interactive display design, the host will be able to choose the output in the studio by touchscreen and a very impressive holographic projection.
CONTACT will be supplemented by a standard storage device. For complex graphics applications there will be the option of support from a dedicated graphics processor (separate PC).
